.....my standard mid-week apology for lack of posts. By now you know how insincere these "sorry-sorry" things are so I'll skip that formality........

Here, to make up for my badness, something fun for you.


Have you ever visited a place called Michael's? I always hear you ladies in the US talking about Michael's this, Michael's that.... and I didn't even know who this guy is!

Anyway,  Patty {thank you!!} sent me some beautiful goodies from Michael's!!  And now I realize it's a store and not a fellow (hahaha and jk).

And this pretty little yellow posy comes from the Recollections line at Michael's.


 I heartlessly plucked it apart.... so I could do something with it.


..... stuffed a pink mulberry-hydrangea in between and glued the whole thing back together.

Got scrunchy ribbon (aka seam binding)? use scraps (from failed bows -- whoops!) and cut leaves...




 More yummy-licious Pink Paislee die-cuts. Me love them die-cuts. ~love~

~ April Garden Day ~

Hey, I've done a turrible job of answering your queshuns lately......... here are a few answerz for you.

#1 Scrunchy ribbon bow tutorial: I learned that from here!

 (pretty huh? easy does it. Melis has a wonderful tutorial for ya)

#2 Lace trim source: Almost all my trims are purchased from this etsy shoppe..... a huge and lovely range. Another new favorite trim-shoppe is this one..... yum!!

(this one came from Little Red Cottage ... you're gonna see a lot of it) 

#3 Ummmm..... I knew there were three queshuns but I forgot what the third one was. If you have any more just post 'em in the comments later huh?



Today, featuring the beautiful and versatile stamp set On the Mend II by CSS.......... and Butterfly Garden die-cuts by Pink Paislee. I think I'm going to be addicted to those die-cut images. ~SO LOVELY!~


Blue is my new favorite. I mean, humm.. blue has always *always* been my favorite color. but I found it a bit hard to fit it into the colors of a card... but now!!!!! I LOVE IT!

'kay but pink is good too. It's a go-to color when you feel stuck ~


Those sweet little birds un-stuck my brain at once!! how cute are they?

  
Heee.. I altered the sentiment by stamping the top and bottom lines separately. It fit so much nicer on this card...... I know, I know. I always cheat when I stamp text. BUT I like to do that (stamp in a strange way I mean, not cheat).



I can't wait to mess my craft table up again (by order of 1 mom and 4 older sisters I packed it today so our dinner guest will not have to see the carnage).

p/s ....... I remember the third question. It had something to do with photography. Ummm.... I'm the biggest ignoe-ray-moose when it comes to photography so I cannnot answer that. Lemme see. I think I can tell you that you take a whole ton of pictures and then go through and delete all the blur ones. Yes! that's the way to get nice pictures. Hope that helped somewhat....
(when I am more certain of my own ability, I promise you I will give a few photography tips for those of you who asked!) :o)

~ spring shower ~

Hello Nice People!!

(making a visit here automatically puts you in the nice-people category) ;o) 

 

Are you having spring where you are? it's getting from summer-y to summer-est here where I am. and that means HOT. not nice at all.

So, I have need of fresh air sometimes... here it is in the form of spring cards. Sweet, light colors, like ice-cream or candy.  
 

 

That big cabbage rose came from Frog Feather's etsy store, stirred up with a little tea-dye... (if you shop at Frog Feathers, let Christi know via convo that I sent you there and she'll give you a 15% discount)

 
 

We'd better prepare ahead of time for Mother's Day... cuz Moms are special! (nest&egg from CraftZany)

 
 
 
Another pretty cabbage rose.. non-tea-dyed this time. Trim the middle with a twist of jute loop fringe and a little rose, and you're good to go...

 I found this cute grapevine wreath on etsy... you might like to look them up in other stores as the one I purchased from doesn't have anymore. That cute button and lace trim are from my friend Patty... I got a gift package from her today and after opening it up I used it right away :o) THANK YOU Patty!!!

 
Stamps today were from BasicGrey and PaperTrey Ink... scrunchy ribbons from MemrieMare ... with a whole lot of other goodies.

~ A Little Fabric Love ~

Happy weekend, girls!

It's saturday afternoon, the sun is blazing (like it always does in south east asia) and I'm not gonna lie to you... I feel like I need a nap. It's so quiet outdoors I think maybe even the birds are taking their siesta.

I better hurry up with what I have for today then..


I got me some fat quarters of pretty vintage fabrics in the mailbox this week... from Rope. Spring-like, fresh and lovely prints. You can rip 'em and stitch 'em and do all sorts of fun things.



I never thought I'd make a card (much less SIX of them) with no patterned paper. But then, patterned fabric makes a great substitute, doesn't it? :o)

 I think... that gate-fold cards and I might not have been made to be friends :o( We'll see --- in the days ahead.

Stamping works on fabric too! The effect is just a little bit softer -- what's not to love about that?


 Those little posies are made of scraps of tea-dyed lace trim. Fun, cute, and easy... you'd better plan on having super sticky fingers after you're done creating them though. Lots of glue involved ;o)


That's my first card set created with the pretty trio of fabrics. I'll show you the next set I made sometime next week, k.

OH Bother!! I might as well show you now. The thought of having to think of another title for another post... *shudder*    <--- now you know my grudge against this thing called blogging?


Up on these next three cards, there are some pretty awesome, fluffy-cute thingies from Frog Feathers <---- love this name :o) 

Shabby, frayed roses and beautiful jute trimmings...

 

The middles of these lovely pieces of fabric roses can be adorned with little posies, buttons, or other toppings...

~ Clear and Simple Stamps April Release ~ On the Mend II

....... happy today! Clear and Simple Stamps is releasing their April set-of-the-month. adorable, stamp-a-licious goodies --- On the Mend II ---


First of all, that cute flower stamp is from the set........ and the ruler/tape measure stamp made perfect stems! :o)

I love this sentiment..... am using it all over the place! And those darling bobbins are in the set too. Wrap them with fuzzy twine and you're all set to go.




Lots of CSS buttons on this card: the pinks, creams, and neutrals all bunched together.
Next up..... another cute flower, more rulers......



The sweetest sewing machine ever!! have you ever seen the likes? I love it! and it looks just like the one I use in real life :o)



Another lovely sentiment. That font is so gorgeous, I could look at it all day.....


^ this card ^ I made for a special friend... a sweet friend who has indeed been very kind to me. Let me tell you, real friends love you for who you are, rather than what they can get out of you. I love that about my friends, and I try my best with God's help to be that kind of a friend too.


Next card, with that same, "love-beyond-measure" text strip...... I became a little cruel to the stamp at this point and bent it all out of shape to get the curve I wanted ......... don't worry about doing that to your stamps tho. They nicely un-bend when you pull it off the stamping block. Try it -- you'll like it!



I love me that little bird-nest...... from this etsy store. Ask for the eggs in any color you want, with the nest in light or dark brown. I'm needing more already......


That lovely blue-bird image is from a Crafty Secrets vintage postcard kit. I only used half the postcard, and saved the other half for a rainy day......... when I have no more money left to buy postcard kits ;o)
