On to the fun things! I trailed after my mum and sisters to "arab street" (a cute, old, antique-y place here in Singapore) to find material for our choir girls' dresses for our next season and I found a big roll of burlap in one of the stores! .exactly.what.I.wanted.
So I asked the "auntie" to cut half-a-meter for me, and I took it home and snipped it up and made these little gift-pockets.
trimmed with real, crocheted lace and fairy wings, tea-dyed buds and a felt rose. And the most beautiful chandelier drops I found in a beads-and-trinkets store.
little lockets and key trinkets I found somewhere on "arab street". these stores are nameless and I'm not sure I can find them again next time. *frowny face*
And I made a card with a little burlap too.. here 'tis..
.. see the cute wall-panels behind my card? I picked it up for just a few dollars at the wonderful beads-and-trinkets store ... the old fashioned kind of place with lots of cute things to pick over -- and I just love that little panel! here's a full photo -- darling isn't it?
Last of all... today is...
... here are some of my very favorite goodies that I used in the creations shared today... and I would love to give a bundle of them away to you as a "thank you" for all the times you've come to visit. whether you come often, or this is your first time popping in, just say so.. I love to get to know my readers too :)
only one rule: if you don't leave a comment, you don't get to be picked. Easy? you can say anything you please in your comments. Niceness not enforced here :)
*sometimes, just sometimes, I feel cranky and don't participate in giveaways... if that's you today, please do still leave a comment because I'm just aching all over to know just who reads my silly blog... will you? you're a dear!*
Next weekend, I will be back and draw a name. And if we go more than 50 comments, I will pick two winners. each will get this goodie bundle...
~ my favorite mulberry roses ~ chandelier drops ~ locket-trinket ~ key-trinkets ~ tea-dyed buds ~ my favorite, favorite tea-dyed lace trim ~ all tucked up into your very own burlap baggie, ready for you to dress up for yourself.
Happy weekend!

ReplyDeleteOh, my goodness...how late am I?!? I did my usual "quickie" check in yesterday and am back today with more time to stop and chat. I thought, where in the heck are all these comments coming from?!? Then I read about the give away. Give away or not...I love these. I've always enjoyed the burlap on Melissa's projects, also. The neutral color of it makes the pretty clean whites and pastels just shine...kind of like good Kraft card stock, only with way more texture! The little drops are so lovely, too. And I really like the extra wide trim on the bag--seems to really soften the burlap. OK, I'm rambling...gotta git. Good luck next week! I know you'll do well!! Each one of these are true beauties!!
